Jamie will follow in the footsteps of Sir Tom Jones, Sir Elton John and Lionel Ritchie as he performs at Access all Eirias, Colwyn Bay on Sunday THE 9th of July.
Plymouth-born singer songwriter Jamie Lawson had his break-through with Wasn’t Expecting That. After a night out drinking with friends, a phrase someone had used got lodged in Jamie’s head “I wasn’t expecting that” – and a song quickly formed. Jamie posted the emotional song on YouTube – and from there the song was soon picked up and first released in Ireland. Ed Sheeran, an early fan of Jamie’s work, invited him to join him on tour and signed Jamie to his own label Gingerbread Man. Jamie’s first album “Jamie Lawson” entered the UK album chart at Number 1.
Jamie will open for Grammy Award winner Bryan Adams who last year released his 13th studio album “Get Up”. The Canadian boasts an incredible catalogue of work, including some of his best known songs Run to You, Summer of '69, the incredibly successful (Everything I Do) I Do It for You which still holds the UK record for most consecutive weeks at number 1, Heaven, All for Love, and Have You Ever Really Loved a Woman?
The event is supported by Conwy County Borough Council, Bay of Colwyn Town Council, and media partners Heart FM; Daily Post; and North Wales Weekly News. Access All Eirias is also supported by Principality Building Society, which is backing the concert at Eirias Stadium for the sixth year in a row.
